            Kottayam: Social Justice will be ensured when spirituality becomes creatively expressed an d in this context the activities of Kottayam Social Service Society is praiseworthy, said Mr. Mathew T. Thomas – the Minister for Transportation. He was speaking in the inaugural function of the Jeevakarunya meeting held at the Chaithanya Pastoral Center, Thellakom, to bestow the ‘Chevalier Pullapally Award’ to Rev. Fr. Michael Vettickat. He added that the activities of the Voluntary organizations to ensure justice to the vulnerable sections in society without caste/creed discrimination were noteworthy.

 

            In the function, presided by Mr. P. V. Abraham, - the President of the Knanaya History Congress, the Archbishop Mar Kuriakose Kunnacherry presented the Award to Fr. Michael Vettickat. The Metropolitan said that the services rendered by Fr. Michael Vettickat to mainstream the women in society, keeping in accord with the Christian values would ever remain cherished by the Church in Kerala. Chevalier Joseph Chacko Pulimootil, Member of the Award Committee, honored Fr. Michael Vettickat by donning him with a ‘Ponnaada’. Adv. Jose Philip Chengalavan offered the Certificate of Merit.

 

            Mr. Thomas Chaazhikadan MLA, Prof. Joseph George Kaanaattu, Fr. Varghese Kaatuparambil, Mr. E. J. Lukose, Mr. Jomon Vattamattam and Mr. Jomon Pullapallil also spoke on the occasion. Fr. Michael Vettickat made the speech in reply.
